Centralne Muzeum Jeńców Wojennych

Publikacja stanowi kontynuację serii wydawniczej Centralnego Muzeum Jeńców Wojennych w Łambinowicach-Opolu, którą tworzą materiały dotyczące historii wszystkich obozów w Lamsdorf/Łambinowicach, tj. od czasów wojny francusko-pruskiej (1870–1871) aż po dzieje Obozu Pracy (1945–1946) i Miejsca Pamięci Narodowej w Łambinowicach. Prezentowany zeszyt składa się z 6 szkiców, których autorami są pracownicy Muzeum i osoby z nim związane. Przygotowane przez nich artykuły wzbogacają znacząco wiedzę na temat dziejów obozów w Łambinowicach, szczególnie w okresie I i II wojny światowej. Przybliżają czytelnikom bogaty materiał, stanowiący podstawę opracowań naukowych, tj. akta przechowywane w archiwach moskiewskich, szczególnie cenne zbiory archiwalne Muzeum i nowo pozyskane pamiątki. Znajdują się wśród nich także interesujące artykuły z zakresu historii, historii sztuki i socjologii dotyczące teraźniejszości oraz przeszłości Miejsca Pamięci Narodowej w Łambinowicach. Wartościowym materiałem poznawczym jest również korespondencja i wspomnienia jeńców.

This publication makes a continuation of the series edited by the Central Museum of Prisoners-of-War in Łambinowice-Opole, consisting of materials related to the history of all the camps located in Lamsdorf/Łambinowice, i.e., from the days of the Franco-Prussian War (1870–1871) until the time shortly after World War II, when the Labor Camp functioned there (1945–1946) and contemporary times of the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice. The volume in question consists of 6 sketches, whose authors are employees of the Museum and people who are connected with it. The contributors’ articles enrich the knowledge on the history of the Lamsdorf/Łambinowice camps to a considerable extent, especially with reference to the two global wars. They bring closer to the reader the material which constituted the basis of relevant scientific studies, that is files kept in the archives in Moscow, particularly valuable archival collections at the disposal of the Museum and newly-acquired mementoes. Consequently, the reader will find in the volume interesting articles in the field of history, history of art and sociology relating to the present days and the past of the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice. POWs’ correspondence and memoirs also provide valuable cognitive material.
