Tom 38 „Łambinowickiego Rocznika Muzealnego” dotyka zagadnień związanych z ostatnim okresem II wojny światowej, a zarazem końcowym etapem niewoli tysięcy jeńców wojennych różnych narodowości. Kluczborka). Interesująco opracowana została sylwetka powstańca warszawskiego i jeńca obozów Wehrmachtu, a zarazem uzdolnionego karykaturzysty Stanisława Toegla.

Volume 38 of The Annual touches upon the problems connected with the last stage of World War II and – at the same time – the final stage of the captivity of thousands of POWs of different nationalities. The opening paper in this issue of The Annual is devoted to documenting and commemorating the Katyń Crime in the Katyń Museum, which – in 2015 – began to function in its new seat. The following papers, authored by Polish and German researchers, deal with the policies of German military authorities towards POWs, which are confronted with the end of the war, as well as with the situation in which soldiers from Poland, Great Britain and the USSR found themselves, among others, in the camps located on the territory of the land of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern or in the Silesian Bankau (Bąków near Kluczbork). The profile of Stanisław Toegl - a Warsaw Insurgent and a POW of the Wehrmacht camps and – at the same time – a talented caricaturist was presented in a very interesting way. The section “Archive” contains, in turn, materials referring to the evacuation of British POWs from Stalag 344 Lamsdorf and the documentation of one of the repatriation camps located in Italy. There are also papers written by descendants of former POWs published in The Annual. They present the wartime vicissitudes of their fathers in German POW camps. The regular parts of The Annual include reviews of the latest publications, reports on conferences and other papers providing information on the Museum’s activity.
